Fourteen Bossier Parish athletes, including two relay teams, made the Louisiana Sports Writers Association All-State boys’ and girls’ track and field teams.
The team was selected based on times and distances in the LHSAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in May at LSU.
Parkway’s Alison Ringle made the girls’ team in both the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs. Ringle, the Class 5A champion, had the second fastest time (11:10.84) among five All-State selections in the 3,200.
Airline’s Jasmyn Carswell was the only other parish athlete to make the girls’ team. She topped all selections in the triple jump with a 38-1.5. Carswell was the 5A champion in that event.
On the boys’ team, 5A champions Cory Hamilton and Jack Wilkes led the selections in their respective events. Hamilton ran a 47.45 in the 400, and Wilkes ran a 1:55.01 in the 800.
Two Haughton athletes — 5A champ Micah Larkins and third-place Josh Lister — were All-State selections in the 100.
Larkins and Lister were also members of Haughton’s 5A champion 4X100 relay team, which led all All-State selections with a 41.25. The other team members were Javonte Woodard and D’Kovin Ware.
Other parish selections were Parkway’s Hayden Kingfisher (1,600), Airline’s Cameron Rice (triple jump) and Haughton’s Jacorius Jeter (5A triple jump champion).
Parkway’s 4X200 relay team of William McKnight, Dylan Whaley, Demetrius McAtee and Hamilton also made the team.
