CORSICANA, Texas — The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers dropped a 97-61 decision to the Navarro College Bulldogs Wednes-day night.
BPCC dropped to 4-15 overall and 2-7 in Region XIV.
The Cavaliers host Kilgore College (16-2, 7-2) at 6 p.m. Saturday in their homecoming game.
Wilbert Thomas led BPCC with 22 points. Trayvion Johnson had 19 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Gustavs Puhovs, a 6-foot-7 freshman and one of the Cavs’ top scoring threats, sat out the game with a thumb injury but is expected to be back Saturday.
The Cavs hung with the Bulldogs (14-7, 7-3) for a half, trailing just 35-28.
But Navarro hit 10 of its first 11 shots, including three 3-pointers, from the floor en route to building a 60-31 lead.
BPCC had a tough night shooting. The Cavs hit just two of 20 3-pointers and shot 30.8 percent (20 of 65) for the game.
The exception was Thomas, who was seven of 12 from the floor.
Former Bossier star Lyndale James didn’t score, but he did grab six rebounds.
Toney Foster led Navarro with 14 points. Deshawn Robinson and Jamar Goodwin had 13 each.
