UPDATE: The man wanted for stealing several thousand dollars from a victim who hired him to remodel his home after the recent flooding in March has been arrested.
Danny Ray Shoemaker, 45, of Tyler, Texas, was arrested by the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office today on warrants from Texas and Louisiana. In Texas, Shoemaker is charged with theft of services, insufficient funds check, and theft by check. Bossier Sheriff’s detectives charged Shoemaker with felony theft and felony criminal damage to property. Shoemaker will be extradited to Bossier once Texas charges are cleared.
Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington is seeking the public’s help in locating a man wanted for theft.
Detectives said Danny Ray Shoemaker, 45, is wanted for stealing several thousand dollars from a victim who hired him to remodel his home after the recent flooding in March. Shoemaker uses Craigslist as a means to find customers for his alleged remodeling business and preys on those that have been affected by the recent flooding.
Shoemaker is believed to be driving a white, 1995 Chevy truck with Texas license plate “GKX2497.” Shoemaker claims to be associated with a remodeling company he owns named Cowboy Remodeling, out of Texas.
Shoemaker is a white male, approximately 5’-10” tall, weighs about 200 pounds and has blue eyes and blonde or strawberry hair. Shoemaker has tattoos on his upper left and right arms. He also has scarring on his face, elbow, nose, right knee, and left elbow. Shoemaker is wanted in Texas and Louisiana.
