The Bossier Parish Community College Theatre Program and the Cavalier Players announce auditions for the cast of the Broadway musical fantasy, Seussical: The Musical. The show was adapted from the books and stories of the famed Dr. Seuss, with book and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty and music by Stephen Flaherty.

Auditions will be at 6:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, August 15 and 16, 2016 in the Performing Arts Theatre (Building C) on the BPCC campus, 6220 East Texas Street, Bossier City.

The musical has a number of lead and supporting roles of all types—for ages 16 and older.  Those auditioning should prepare a one-minute contemporary monologue and a short musical selection.  Please bring sheet music.  Readings and singing selections will be provided for those who do not bring their own.

Dr. Ray Scott Crawford, dean of Communication and Performing Arts, is directing this whimsical Tony Award-winning musical which follows Seuss’ delightful characters including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination—Jojo.  The fun and familiar Seuss characters take us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the miniscule world of the Whos.

Show dates for Seussical! are scheduled for 7:30 pm on October 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, and 22, and at 2:00 pm on October 16 and 23.
