Centenary’s Taylor Henry, a former Airline standout, was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for his efforts in the conference, weekend sweep at Austin College as announced by the conference office.
Henry recording a win and picked up two saves as he made relief appearances in all three outings against the Roos. The senior lefty posted a 0.00 ERA in 5.2 innings on the mound. He held AC hitless in the three appearances without a run as he fanned nine and walked a pair.
The Bossier City native is third in the conference in strikeouts with 43 in just 31.2 frames. He is the leader in appearances with 14 and third in ERA with a 1.71.
Henry becomes the first Gent to receive a weekly honor from the conference this season and the first pitcher since Cole Thompson in 2013.
Centenary returns to action on Friday, April 3 as it hosts the University of Dallas in a doubleheader. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m.
