HAUGHTON – Billy James Walsworth went to his eternal place on Easter Sunday and is now worshiping Jesus with all his heart. Celebration of life service will be held at River Valley Church at 3800 Viking Drive in Bossier on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 10 a.m. Rev. Charles Rogers will be officiating, and visitation will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23.
Bill was the chaplain for the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Department, pastor of Restoration Fellowship of Elm Grove, and vice president of Faith Bible College. He was the past president of World Ministry Fellowship and board-member-for life. He was a founding member of Caring in Action ministries. Bill was a staunch LSU fan and loved football season almost as much as traveling worldwide for ministry!
Bill was preceded in death by his father, James Louesta; his mother, Helen Marie; and his brothers, Fred and Audie.
Bill is survived by his wonderful wife, Barbara; his eldest son, James Tyra, and his wife, Cindy; his son, Ron Walsworth; his sister-in-law and “twin” brother-in-law, Cheryl and Larry Lawrence; his nephew, David Lawrence and wife, Stephanie; his niece, Leslie Scott, and her husband Clay Scott, and children, Colton and Avery; his mother-in-law, Jewel Boutwell; his sister, Karen; and numerous nieces and nephews. Papa’s grandchildren were the light in his eyes: Zoe Jewel, Lauren Presley, Elijah James, Ty Alexander and Asher Graham.
The family request that memorials can be given in Bill’s honor to a fund to care for his ministry partner for 46 years, Barbara, at www.youcaring.com/brotherbill.
The family would like to extend special thanks to all the people showing their love and concern by bringing food, cleaning, talking, listening and hugging.
