Bossier-based Louisiana Thunder win twice at USSSA 13-under state tournament

The Louisiana Thunder, which includes several of the same players who played on last summer’s Little League 12-and-under state championship team, won two games in pool play in the USSSA 13-and-under state baseball tournament Saturday in Lake Charles.

The Thunder defeated Riot Baseball Black @ Traction 8-6 and Gator Baseball 6-4.

Caleb Reese led the Thunder against Riot Baseball Black, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Cole Horton and Amani Larry each had one hit and one RBI. Christion Raynor also had a hit.

Sam Simmons, Garrett Hable and Harrison Tauzin had one RBI apiece. Larry, Turner Toms and Silas Ardoin pitched.

Simmons went 3-for-3 with an RBI against Gator Baseball. Eric Brown and Toms
each had a single and an RBI. Reese also had an RBI. Simmons and Nick Heckman pitched.

Larry, Brown and Raynor played for the Bossier Nationals team that reached the Little League Southwest Regional semifinals last year after winning the state tournament.
