An organization best known for paying out cash rewards to help put criminals behind bars is using its financial resources to help the victims of criminals, namely those whose lives are shattered by domestic violence.

Bossier Crimes Stoppers today presented a check for $500 to the Northwest Louisiana Family Justice Center in Bossier City. The money will go to assist the center in providing services to victims and families of domestic violence.

Bossier Crimes Stoppers Board President Jerry Kutz presented the check to the NWLA FJC’s Executive Director Jeri Bowen with Deputy Chief Daryl Worley of the Bossier City Police Department and Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittington in attendance. Also on hand were Bossier Crime Stoppers Treasurer Alvin Scott and NWLA FJC’s Assistant Executive Director Derrick Henderson.

The Northwest Louisiana Family Justice Center opened this year as an initiative spearheaded by Bossier/Webster District Attorney J. Schuyler Marvin. The center is a collaboration among public and private agencies in Caddo, Bossier/Webster, Bienville, Claiborne, DeSoto, Jackson, Sabine and Red River Parishes to provide support services and resources for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and exploitation.
