Bossier High has hired Joanna Crowson as head softball coach, according to principal David Thrash.
She was also a volunteer assistant to Mark Montgomery when he was the head coach at Centenary College in 2009-10 and at Louisiana Tech last year. Crowson taught chemistry and physical science at Jonesboro-Hodge High School the last school year.
“She is a great hire for our program,” Thrash said.
Crowson is a graduate of Louisiana College.
At West Brook, Crowson took over a team that had three coaches in the previous three seasons. She had to rebuild the school’s softball field after it was destroyed by hurricanes. She led the team to its first district championship in four years and a No. 6 state ranking in Texas Class 5A.
