The Bossier Nationals remained undefeated in the Little League Baseball 9-10 Southwest Region Tournament of Champions with a 6-4 victory over Blanchard Tuesday night at Walbrook Park.
Bossier, the Louisiana state champion, will play the winner of tonight’s game between Blanchard and Arkansas in the championship round Thursday at 6 p.m. Bossier will need just one win to take the title. If Bossier loses, there will be a second game for the championship immediately following.
The Nationals broke a 3-3 tie against Blanchard with three runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Bossier’s Carson Carey went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs in the game. Cade Stewart also had two hits. Coleman Beeson, Gavin Ashworth and Coleman Stafford all had singles. Hayden Smith had an RBI. Gray Walters, Dylan Procell and Brandon Staton reached base on walks.
Harrison Waxley went four innings on the mound, allowing four hits and striking out eight. He also walked twice and scored two runs. Cade Campbell and Ashworth both pitched an inning.
