Two Bossier All-Star softball and baseball teams posted wins in state tournament play Friday and Saturday.
Bossier began defense of its 11-12 Little League softball state title with a 22-2 win over Vidalia Friday in New Iberia.
Madison Ennis led Bossier at the plate, going 3-for-4 with five RBIs. Mackenzie Chaffin also had five RBIs on two hits. Lexi Gray went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Raelin Chaffin, who struck out six, got the win. Bossier plays again Sunday at 8 p.m.
Bossier won two games in the Dixie 9 AAA baseball state tournament in Ponchatoula, defeating Sabine 16-7 Friday and Gonzalez 17-2 Saturday.
Eli Harper, Zach Schoenborn and Riley Sitter had three hits apiece for Bossier against Sabine. Wesley Gardner had two hits. Gibson Harvill, Noah McWilliams and Chase Rambin had one each.
Harvill, Barrett Newman, Rambin, Schoenborn and Sitter all had two hits in the win over Gonzalez. Harvill, McWilliams and Conner Stevens had one each. Wesley Gardner and Schoenborn both pitched in the three-inning game.
Elsewhere, the Haughton All-Stars dropped its first game in Pool A play in the Dixie 11 O-Zone state tournament in Shreveport, 9-6, to Jackson Parish. Haughton was scheduled to play two more games in pool play Saturday.
