Fostering future leaders in our local community plays an important role in shaping the quality of life in our city. For over 20 years the Bossier Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Bossier Parish School System has been investing in local youth through the Bossier Youth Leadership Program.
This program prepares area High School students to go out into the world prepared to take on leadership roles. High School juniors from across Bossier Parish go through an application process and are selected to participate in the program based on meeting the program standards.
Students are exposed to and participate in a variety of educational sessions aimed at educating them on various community aspects such as government and law enforcement, economic development, education and social services. Through these sessions, students learn the true meaning of citizenship and get a behind the scenes look into how Bossier City and Parish is run.
The Bossier Chamber is currently seeking applications from High School students interested in participating in the 2014-15 program. Students are encouraged to contact the Bossier Chamber of Commerce for more information at 746-0252 or visit us online at www.bossierchamber.com. Students may also reach out to their school counselor to express interest in participating in this program. The application deadline is April 17.
