The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers opened Region XIV play with a 9-1 victory over Panola College on Thursday in Carthage, Texas.
The Cavs (11-9) smacked four home runs in the game.
Luis Santiago, Stephen Zayas, Dakota Wright and Cole Frost all went deep. It was Frost’s team-leading sixth homer.
Luis Santiago went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Zayas went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Austin Stegall had two hits. Kyle Koch had an RBI double.
BPCC starter Tanner Johnson, a former Captain Shreve standout, allowed just five hits and no earned runs in six innings and struck out four. Alex Boone pitched a scoreless final inning.
Panola dropped to 15-3.
The three-game conference series continues with a noon doubleheader Saturday at BPCC.
