The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers went 1-2 in their first Region XIV series under head coach Bobby Gilliam.

BPCC opened the series against Panola College with a 9-1 win on Thursday in Carthage, Texas. The Cavs were then swept in a home doubleheader on Saturday, 14-4 and 10-2.

BPCC (11-11) is scheduled to start a three-game conference series against Paris Junior College on Thursday with a single game at home at 2:30 p.m. The series then shifts to Paris, Texas, for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Sunday.

Tanner Johnson allowed just five hits in six innings in the 9-1 win against Panola. Luis Santiago, Dakota Wright, Stephen Zayas and Cole Frost all hit home runs.

Santiago went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Zayas and Austin Stegall had two hits each. Kyle Koch had a double.

Former Bossier star Rodney Bonds, Zayas and Stegall hit home runs in the 14-4 loss, but the Cavs had only one other hit. Four BPCC pitchers allowed 10 hits and walked seven.

The Cavs had seven hits in the 10-2 loss. Zayas went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Koch went 2-for-3. Panola had 14 hits, including two home runs and three others for extra bases.
