Parkway finished third in the Mobile Cross Country Challenge of Champions boys’ division on Saturday in Mobile, Ala.
The Panthers scored 75 points competing in the Invitational division. Mobile Baker, which placed five runners in the top 10, won with 28. Brother Martin, which placed three in the top five and four in the top 10, was second with 33.
Brother Martin and Parkway finished 5-6 in the Class 5A state meet last year.
Parkway’s Cole Billiot finished ninth, covering the 5,000-meter course in 17 minutes, 25.24 seconds. Jay Day of Baker won in 16:03.75.
Cameron Rogers was 13th in 17:37.94, Brencen Delacruz 16th in 17:51.53, Andrew Robinson 17th in 17:53.90 and David Morgan 20th in 18:01.28.
The top five runners figure in the scoring. Eighty-four runners competed in the Invitational division.
Christian Nevins finished just behind Morgan in 21sth in 18:02.95. Tyler Kruifhof was 23rd in 18:11.36.
Parkway finished ninth in the Invitational girls’ division.
Adrianna Wilder led the Lady Panthers with a ninth-place finish in 20:46.47. Kirsten Landry of Ascension Episcopal won in 18:43.14.
Other Parkway runners in the scoring were Lindsey Hutcheson (34th, 22:48.60), Victoria Morris (43rd, 23:23.75), Carly Hanson (51st, 23:57.79) and Keely Reed (52nd, 24:02.79). Claire Carlyle was 62nd in 24:57.51.
Parkway scored 179 points. Ocean Springs (Mississippi) won with 75.
Eight-nine runners competed in the Invitational division.
Parkway hosts a meet Sept. 17.
