The Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans will square off Thursday in a preseason game at the CenturyLink Center at 7 p.m.
The game is hosted by the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission, the CenturyLink Center and the City of Bossier City.
Tickets start at $12 and can be purchased Wednesday until 4:30 p.m. at the CenturyLink box office and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and before the game. Tickets can also be purchased through ticketmaster.com.
The Mavericks finished 49-33 in the 2013-14 regular season. They were the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference in the playoffs and took No. 1 seed and eventual champion San Antonio to seven games in the first round.
The Pelicans finished 34-48 last season and did not make the playoffs.
Seven-foot forward Dirk Nowitzki is the Mavericks’ most well-known player. The Wurzburg, Germany, native is about to begin his 17th season in the league. He led the Mavericks to the 2011 NBA title.
Anthony Davis, a 6-foot-10 forward, is the Pelicans’ marquee player. Davis was the No. 1 pick out of Kentucky in the 2012 NBA Draft. He was a member of the United States’ World Cup of Basketball championship team this past summer.
