High school soccer: Airline boys tournament starts Thursday at Freedom Fields

The annual Airline Winter Classic boys high school soccer tournament starts Thursday at First Baptist Bossier’s Freedom Fields.

The tournament features 16 teams and runs through Saturday. Other Bossier Parish teams competing are Benton, Bossier and Parkway.

The 16 teams are divided into four pools. The Pool A winner faces the Pool C winner and the Pool B winner plays the Pool D winner in semifinal games at 5:30 Saturday. The championship game is scheduled for 7:15.

Other teams competing are Captain Shreve, Minden, Natchitoches Central, West Monroe, Byrd, Union Parish, West Ouachita, Caddo Magnet, Neville, Northwood, North DeSoto and Ouachita Parish.

There is also a JV boys tournament with 10 teams competing.

Games start at 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday. For a full schedule, go to nwlrsa.com.
