Hailey McGee scored three goals as the Benton Lady Tigers defeated the Haughton Lady Bucs 6-1 in a District 1-II girls soccer game Friday night at Tinsley Park.
McGhee, the top goal scorer in Northwest Louisiana, also had two assists.
Georgia Carroway, Jessica Venegoni and Kyla Klingensmith scored one goal each. Baylee Cortez, Shayla Lee, Sarah Varnado and Annalee Ward had one assist apiece.
Benton improved to 10-3-1 overall and 2-0 in district. Haughton dropped to 7-6 and 2-2.
Elsewhere, the Benton Tigers and Bossier Bearkats picked up wins in the North Vermilion tournament.
The Tigers downed North Vermilion 2-1, and the Bearkats defeated Comeaux by the same score.
Jacob Garrett and Caleb LeMoine scored Benton’s goals. The Tigers improved to 7-6-3.
Rene Alvarado scored both of Bossier’s goals. The Bearkats improved to 4-3.
The Airline boys and girls lost close games in the St. Frederick tournament in Monroe.
The Vikings fell to Neville 4-2, and the Lady Vikings lost to St. Frederick 2-1.
Gin Pau scored both of the Vikings’ goals, including a penalty kick that tied it at 2 in the second half.
Emily Francis cut St. Frederick’s lead to 2-1 late in the second half with a goal off an assist from Lindsay Donlan.
The Airline boys dropped to 5-6-1. The Airline girls are 3-6-1.
