Shane's Seafood & BBQ has become a local institution by putting its own unique spin on the traditional seafood restaurant by combining barbecue with its menu.
The Bossier City location, 4726 East Texas St., is one of several dotting the Bossier-Shreveport map. Started 1994 on Mansfield Road in Shreveport, they are known as THE place for crawfish in the S-BC. But you can't stop there. Their gigantic menu comes with a host of starters — including a crawfish pie — salads, pasta, po-boys, seafood plates, and sides.
The amount of choices on their menu is almost overwhelming once you walk up to the counter to order. And their tables come equipped with hot sauce and cajun seasoning (just in case you needed more incentive to give it a try).
But one of the hidden secrets at Shane's is their Sloppy Meal. For only $6.99, or get the large for $9.99 in case you're wasting away or are literally starving, you get a large chopped beef sandwich served on a grilled, buttered bun with chips and a drink. Great value for a great meal. And I don't know about you guys, but there's something about a buttered, toasted bun on a sandwich that does something for me...And the tangy, tender barbecue doesn't disappoint the taste buds, either.
Even though the majority of their menu is comprised of cajun, seafood, and BBQ items, two of my favs are their grilled hamburger and chicken sandwich — when served on a jalapeno bun with cheese and bacon, of course.
Shane's proves that even if you get a little adventurous with your menu choices, you can't go wrong.
