I know I'm breaking one of my own rules. BUT rules are made to be broken.
There's a chain (a small one, that started in Texas) called Which Wich at the Louisiana Boardwalk. I feel like, even though it's not a Shreveport-Bossier-based restaurant, it's uniqueness of ordering and variety of selection necessitates a little recognition.
First thing you'll notice about the small shop located near the Regal Cinemas, varies from other run of the mill sandwich restaurants by its ordering method. Next to the door are several rotating displays loaded with paper bags. They are classified by categories such as seafood, comfort, chicken, and eight other categories with five choices in each. From there, you choose the sandwich in that category, vegetables, cheeses, dressings/sauces/mustards, bread (you can even have them remove the excess bread for carb conscious dieters or get it on a bed of lettuce) and oils/seasonings.
The sandwiches come in 7 in. regular, 10.5 in. medium, and 12 in. large.
Their signature sandwich, “The Wicked,” comes with five meats — turkey, ham, roast beef, pepperoni and bacon — and three cheeses of your choosing. I can say it is the heartiest, most delicious sandwiches you can get from a chain.
So next time you're thinking about running to a sandwich shop, show some “Which Wich love” and head to the Boardwalk. The hardest part will be deciding what you want.
