The hgh school football season in Bossier Parish came to an end Friday night as both the Parkway Panthers and Airline Vikings lost Class 5A quarterfinal  games.

The No. 7 seed  Panthers gave the No. 2 seed Barbe Buccaneers all  they wanted before falling 45-35 at Preston Crownover Stadium. The No. 6 seed Airline Vikings dropped a 34-14 decision to the No. 3 seed and defending  state champion West Monroe Rebels in West Monroe.

Parkway finished the season 11-2. The 11 wins are a school record. Airline  finished 10-3. The game also marked the end of quarterback Hayden Hildebrand's high school career. Hildebrand suffered a knee injury in the second half and had to be carried off. He later returned to the game with limited mobility and was knocked out again.

At Preston Crownover, Barbe's Kennon Fontenot threw four touchdown passes to Trey Quinn. Fontenot was the leading passer in the state during the regular season, and Quinn was the leading receiver. The final one came with just 19 seconds left in the first half and allowed Barbe to tie the score at 28.

Parkway junior quarterback Brandon Harris threw threee touchdown passes. Senior Marcus Harper scored a rushing touchdown, and Alex Devine returned a  lateral  fumble for a score. Holden Oregeron, Brodrick Jefferson and Marquis King caught touchdown passes.

Barbe (12-1), which will host West Monroe in the semifinals, led only 38-35 going into the fourth. The Bucs extended the lead to 45-35 with 7:20 left. Parkway drove down the field, but officials ruled Harris fumbled out of the end zone while trying to stick the ball over the pylon.

At West Monroe, Airline fell behind 26-7 at the half but got within 26-14 on a fumble return by Demontre Evans. The Vikings led briefly 7-6 in the first half on a 7-yard run by Hildebrand and Matt Hanisee's PAT.
