BENTON - Graveside services for Mr. Herman C. Edwards, age 88, will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 27, 2013, in the Welcome Cemetery, Taylor, AR with Chaplain Jim Stole officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, Louisiana.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013, 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Mr. Edwards was born on June 14, 1924 to Clarence Ervin and Fraunie Taylor Edwards in Taylor, AR and passed away on January 23, 2013 in Bossier City, LA. He was a member of Belle Park Baptist Church, Bellevue, LA, with whom he enjoyed camping with, was a WWII veteran, retiring after 21 years with the US Air Force and loved to garden.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce Marie Lewis Edwards; two sons, Mike Edwards and wife, Susan of Benton, LA, Danny Edwards of Hobbs, NM; daughter, Deborah Solomon of Princeton, LA; seven grandchildren, Robert Solomon and wife, Joy, Michael Solomon and wife, Sue, Joe Edwards and wife, Tania, Kathy Brunson and husband, Pat, Victoria Tatum and husband, Wade, Bridget Mann and husband, Jim, Lisa Balcerzak and husband, Kyle; nineteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters and two brothers.
Pallbearers will be Kody Mann, Wade Tatum, Robert Solomon, Michael Solomon, James Mann, Jerry Solomon.
