‘Defend Louisiana’ gains legislative supporters

State Representative Jeff Thompson, R-Bossier City, announced last week the "first wave" of supporters from both the Louisiana House and Senate for the "Defend Louisiana" initiative.

"Defend Louisiana is proud to have the support of Senators and Representatives from across the state," said Thompson. "Such a strong legislative backing shows liberal, reactionary politicians that we're serious about defending our rights and protecting our families here in Louisiana."

These supporters included: Rep. Clay Schexnayder (R-Dist. 81); Rep.  Chris Broadwater (R-Dist. 86); Rep. Jay Morris (R-Dist.14); Rep. Stuart Bishop (R-Dist. 43); Rep. Lenar Whitney (R-Dist. 53); Rep. Paul Hollis (R-Dist. 104); Rep. Rob Shadoin (R- Dist. 12); Sen. Elbert Guillory (D-Dist. 24); Sen. Ronnie Johns (R-Dist. 27); Sen. Robert Adley (R-Dist. 36); Sen. Mike Walsworth (R-Dist. 33); Sen. Neil Riser (R- Dist. 32).

"This group consists of bold men and women, from both sides of the aisle, who are willing to stand up and speak out in defense of the Second Amendment." Thompson went on to say, "All across Louisiana, legislators are committed to protecting Louisiana families from attempts to take away their right to protect themselves, their families and enjoy our great outdoors."

Defend Louisiana oppose attempts to erode the Second Amendment rights of Louisiana citizens The initiative has already collected close to 1,000 signatures and reached more than 50,000 people through the use of social media.
