BENTON - A Celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Rev. Jerry Dean, Pastor of The Pentecostals of Bossier City will be officiating the service. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
Maria was a member of The Pentecostals of Bossier City since 1958. She loved spending time with her family, enjoyed gardening and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.J. Burnside, Jr. and her parents, Enrique and Luisa Gomez.
Maria is survived by her children, Arvel and wife Jodie Burnside, Barbara Burnside, Richard and wife Pam Burnside and Rose Philibert. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and her precious dog, Susie.
Pallbearers honoring her will be: Matt Jones, Brandon Oswalt, Mitch Robinson, Brandon Burnside, Chad Beverage, Adam Day and Chuck Beverage.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, staff of W.K. Bossier, special friends and roommate, Ersell McLamore and Milly Barnes.
