Today, fred’s Super Dollar contributed $1,000 each to Stockwell Place Elementary and Cope Middle School during ceremonies celebrating the grand opening of its new store on Shed Road in Bossier City.
“We are thrilled to be expanding in the Bossier City community,” said Ursula Roman, marketing director for fred’s Super Dollar. “As an organization that encourages strong community involvement and recognizes the importance of education, we strive to contribute to any needs we can for educational programs that will benefit children of this community.”
Rhonda Schnell, principal at Stockwell Place Elementary, said the school is excited to have a new community sponsor.
“We plan to use the donation to start a fund for additional playground equipment,” Schnell said. “We look forward to being long-term partners with fred’s.”
Judy Grooms, principal at Cope Middle School, said she is grateful for the help from fred’s.
“We are in need of some technology upgrades,” Grooms said. “When you have to nickel and dime, every little bit helps!”
The fred’s Super Dollar is the new-store prototype for Fred’s Inc., and provides low prices and a wide product variety all in a customer-centric shopping environment.
