HAUGHTON - Funeral services for Mr. Lester C. Simpson, 66, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home officiated by Father Jamie Flowers of St. George Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service.
Lester was born on May 12, 1946, in Wichita Falls, TX and passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester C. and Frankie (Elton) Simpson; and his brother, Lester C. "Billy" Simpson. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 48 years, Mrs. Sandra K. Simpson; sons, Bryan K. Simpson and Duane Simpson and wife, Kellie; daughter, Candace L. Owens; grandchildren, Lacie Spinks and husband, John, Kaylee Simpson, Savanah Simpson, Zachary Owens and fiance', Katherine Ball, Michaela Owens, and Gregory Owens; and great-grandchildren, Isabel Spinks and Peyton Spinks.
Lester was a strong, proud, stubborn man who loved to antagonize and joke around with everyone, but was always there when anyone needed him. In his spare time he enjoyed bass fishing, the Dallas Cowboys and Nascar. He also enjoyed photography and was always the one behind the camera. He was extremely loving and very proud of his three children and all of his grandchildren, but his true love and rock was his wife, Sandra.
Honoring Lester as pallbearers are Brigham Henderson, Terry Buxton, Bobby Bentzler, John Spinks, John Pershon, and Gregory Owens. Honorary pallbearers are Zachary Owens, Al Lightfoot, and Fred Welch.
