Barksdale Air Force Base has canceled its annual Defenders of Liberty Open House and Air Show scheduled for May 4-5. The decision came as a reaction to the effects from sequestration.
“Base officials continued to plan for the event in hopes that a budget agreement would be reached, but the impacts of sequestration continue to grow as the Air Force was forced to suspended tuition assistance Monday,” said a BAFB statement.
"The men and women of Barksdale would like to thank the local community for your unwavering support, especially during these difficult times."
