Who will pick up Bossier’s trash?

Solid waste disposal contract still in negotiations

When it comes to garbage collection in Bossier City, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

The city is currently negotiating a new, $3.3 million solid waste disposal contract after it was announced their current partner — the City of Shreveport — wouldn't renew their contract.

While residents won't notice much of a difference, there is one major change - the cost will rise.

“Trash collection costs will go up, and that would have happened whether or not we continued the contract with Shreveport,” said Mayor Lorenz "Lo" Walker.
