Jimmie Davis Bridge to be reduced to one lane next weekend

Jimmie Davis Bridge will be reduced to one lane next weekend.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has advised motorists that on Saturday, Sept. 29, and Sunday, Sept. 30, LA Hwy. 511 Bridge over the Red River in Caddo and Bossier Parishes will be reduced to one lane.

This is for inspection of specific bridge components.

This lane closure is expected to take place from 6 a.m. to noon each day.

The closure will allow vehicles 10 feet wide or smaller to pass through the bridge inspection zone. Larger vehicles must detour using LA Hwy. 1, LA Hwy. 3032, and US Hwy. 71.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution when driving near the active work zone during work hours.

For more information, call 511 or visit www.511la.org.
