BOSSIER CITY – LaDonne slipped peacefully into the arms of our Lord Sunday, May 4, 2014. She was reunited with the love of her life, Sam Strickland.
LaDonne was born May 12, 1925 in Denver, Co. She married Sam in 1969 resulting in “their brood” of 9 children. LaDonne and Sam enjoyed a life full of friends and activities, much of it spent with “The Dirty Dozen”. Afer LaDonne retired from the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s office, she and Sam moved to “their paradise on earth” in Lake Chapala, Mexico.
She is preceded in death by her mother Lucille Howell, husband Sam G. Strickland, son-in-law Benjamin Anderton, and granddaughter Tammy Friedley.
She is survived by sons, Tom Teague and wife Melody, David Teague and wife Natallia, Samuel Teague, Gary Strickland and wife Debbie; daughters, Kathy Strickland, Paula Anderton, Janie Friedley and husband Paul, Teresa Pollard (Teeto), and Gina Roberts and husband Kevin; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins and many friends.
A celebration of life will be held Sat. May 10 from 2-5pm at the home of Paul and Janie Friedley, 5001 Oak Alley Circle (Plantation Trace), Bossier City.
