The Cope Lady Cougars, Benton Lady Tigers and Rusheon Lady Rams won eighth-grade girls basketball games Thursday.

Cope defeated Greenacres 49-24 at Greenacres, Benton downed Haughton at Benton and Rusheon dropped Elm Grove 36-23 at Elm Grove.

In seventh-grade games, Cope got past Greenacres 22-14, Benton topped Haughton 14-7 and Elm Grove defeated Rusheon 39-23.

At Greenacres, Brykayla Hampton continued her outstanding season for the victorious Cope eighth-grade team, pouring in 29 points.

Paris Endris contributed to the victory with 14 points.

Meaux Carroll led the Lady Cougars seventh-grade squad to the victory with 10 points. Catherine Jurkovich added six.

At Benton, Tahlor Walker and Ella Kate Malley scored 10 points each to lead the victorious Benton eighth-graders.

Kennedy Stevens chpped in with seven.

Walker and Riley Grace Stanford led the Lady Tigers in rebounding. Stevens and Molly Machen contributed with their defensive play.

Walker and Malley were cited for their play on both ends of the court.

Ryuka Roddy scored six points and Danielle Colemon added four to lead the Benton seventh-grade team to the win.

Lauren Hall and Rylie Tippett were the top rebounders. Marissa Schoth and Jermirica Carper were defensive standouts.

Roddy and Addison Graves were cited for their all-around play.

Zahria Shyne and Daleese Wilson hit 3-pointers for Haughton.

At Elm Grove, Mikaylah Williams scored 30 points to lead the Lady Eagles seventh-grade team to the victory.

Darnesha Bonner topped Elm Grove in the eighth-grade game with 10 points.
