BOSSIER CITY – Services celebrating the life of Anthony Michael Hooker will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 7, 2016 at Shady Grove Baptist Church, 4227 Van Deeman St., officiated by Pastor Stephen Sorrell. Interment will follow at the NW Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.

1sgt Anthony Michael Hooker (retired) was born in Jacksonville, FL on March 2, 1953 to Frances V. Ford McGee and Willie J Hooker.

Michael graduated from Gainesville High School in 1972. In 1974 he enlisted the United States Marine Corps where he served 21 years; retired May 31, 1993.

Michael departed his physical life and entered his heavenly home on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Willis Knighton Pierremont, Shreveport, LA at approximately 09:50 A.M.

He has now joined his parents; Frances McGee and Willie Hooker, his sisters; Sylvia Filer and Carolyn Ross.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife of 42 years, Katherine Hooker; his children, Maria (Aaron) Kelly, and Anthony Hooker Jr., both of Bossier City, LA; sister, Cynthia Peterson; step sister, Mary Nobles, both of Gainesville, FL; brothers, Bishop Vincent (Henrietta) Hooker of Fort Worth, TX, John (Laura) Hooker of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Alton Ford of Gainesville, FL; Aunt Mary Cobb of Baltimore, MD; six grandchildren, Samaria, Demarkus, Tyler, Michael, Xavier, and Andra; one godson, Nathaniel Williams; one step grandchild, Anterion Newton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and many endearing friends.
