BENTON – Graveside service for Mr. Bobby Ray Thompson, age 64, will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the Bethel Cemetery, Lillie, LA, with Bro. James Drew officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 16, 2014 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Thompson was born on December 17, 1949 to Vivian F. and Mary Katherine Rhodes Thompson in El Dorado, AR and passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at his home after battling illnesses that were caused by exposure to agent orange. He was of the Pentecostal faith and was retired from Cerros, Inc. in Bossier City, LA with over 20 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and he loved riding motorcycles.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Brenda Ann Morse Thompson; two sons, Coty Thompson, and Casey Thompson all of Benton; parents, Vivian and Mary Katherine Thompson of Cullen, LA; two brothers, Jack Thompson of Cullen, Glenn Thompson and wife, Sue of Haynesville; several nieces, nephews, step-brothers and step-sisters.
Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Rose Lee Thompson, niece, Cherry Lynn Thompson, grandparents, Roy and Ada Thompson, grandparents, John and Kate Rhodes.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to a fund in his honor at Bossier Federal Credit Union.
