James Simmons

Haughton, LA – Funeral services will be conducted for James L.
Simmons, age 76, on Saturday May 26, 2018 at 2:00pm at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Jay Valentine officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:30pm prior to the service.

Jim was the founder and owner of The Turbo Shop Inc. for the last 40 years. He loved the mountains and serving his church, Central Assembly of God in Haughton, LA as an usher and former Sunday school teacher for 1st and 2nd graders. He was also an avid street rodder and member of the National Street Rod Association.

Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorris; his children, Greg Simmons and wife Terri; Cindy Roath and husband Ron and Troy Simmons and wife Emily; his grandchildren, Blake, Jaci, Ryan, Chris, Colton, Cayden and Shelby; three great grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Irma Simmons, two sisters and one brother.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Connella, Chris Roath, Chad Poindexter, Colton Roath, Roger Patterson and Ray Monroe.

Honorary pallbearers are Billy Pate, Lonnie Stiltner, Glen Kirkpatrick, Melvin Balch and Kevin Young.

The family would like to offer their sincere appreciation to the doctors and the entire staff of The Promise in Bossier for their excellent care given.
