BOSSIER CITY – Graveside services for Jaye Durwin Sharp, Jr. will be 1 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Vivian, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Bill Treadway.
Jaye was born April 24, 1929 in Vivian, LA and passed away September 16, 2016 in Bossier City. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Korean War. He was a retired electrician/welder in the construction industry. Jaye was a 60 year member of the IBEW.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorene Sharp; parents, Jaye D. Sharp, Sr. and Dorothy Bruce Sharp and sisters, Ione Jester and Julia Mae Farrar.
Jaye is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Grantham and husband, Bobby; grandchildren, Rusty Grantham and wife, Christy, Angelia Carrington and husband, Gary and great-grandchildren, Lane Stroope, Peyton Grantham, Colton Stroope and Preston Grantham.
The family would like to thank the staff at Pilgrim Manor of Bossier for the care given to our dad and grandad.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.
