Jean Couch Housiaux

BOSSIER CITY – A graveside service celebrating the life of Jean Couch Housiaux, 85, will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation time prior to the service in a stateroom at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home from 1-3 p.m. Rev. Dan Lay of Trinity Heights Baptist Church will officiate.

Jean was born on March 8, 1932 in Haynesville, LA and she went to be with her Lord after a brief illness on November 23, 2017. Jean was an active member of the Shreveport/Bossier community. She was a member of First Bossier and a lifelong member of Trinity Heights Baptist Church. Jean was a vivacious, generous person who loved caring for others. One of her great joys in life was cooking for her family. She also loved to travel and go shopping. Jean will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, and husbands, Melvin R. Couch and John E. Housiaux. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Melanie Couch Kratzer (Brandon); her two sons, Ricky Couch (Cathy), and Ronnie Couch (Cathy); her six grandchildren, Bradley Couch, Ashton Couch, Miranda Couch, Lauren Couch, Anna Claire Kratzer, and Colin Kratzer; her three great-grandchildren; and her special cousin, Betty Hobbs.

Honoring Jean as pallbearers will be: Brandon Kratzer, Bradley Couch, Ashton Couch, Colin Kratzer, Roy Cook, and Doug Asseff.
The family requests that memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to The American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
