5th Annual BPCC 100 Go-Kart Race to be held Sept. 14

BHP Billiton, Capital One and the BPCC Foundation present the 5th annual BPCC 100 Go-Kart Race from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m, Saturday, September 14, on the Bossier Parish Community College campus, 6220 E. Texas Street, Bossier City.

This annual event raises money to help support the student scholarship fund at BPCC.

Local businesses and organizations have sponsored 22 teams, as they will compete for trophies sponsored by BHP Billiton and zip around the track in their customized go karts. Teams also compete for prizes in various categories, such as: Best Looking Car; Best Dressed Pit Crew and Fastest Pit Crew.

Since its inception, the BPCC100 annual event has raised more than $130,000 to support students who could not receive financial aid or would have found it difficult to pay for a college education. The BPCC Foundation has awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships to BPCC students throughout the past 17 years.

In addition to the car races, there are multiple food vendors at the Brookshire’s Food Court and a children’s play area: Kids Pit Stop – sponsored by AEP SWEPCO and Regions Bank.
