Public meetings scheduled for road improvement projects

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) is proposing improvements to two highway corridors and will hold public meetings to explain the projects and take comments.

Improvements to LA 157 (South Elm Street) from the LA 157 and Booker Road intersection to approximately 1,000 feet south of Fox Creek Road in Haughton will be discussed at a meeting June 15. The proposal entails improvements to the existing interchange with I-220 and corridor-wide capacity expansion. Informational materials and graphic displays will be available.

The LA 157 Corridor public meeting will be held Wednesday, June 15, from 5-7 p.m. in the Haughton Middle School Cafeteria, 395 South  Elm Street, Haughton.

Written and verbal comments will be received at the meeting. Additional written comments mailed to the Arcadis, U.S., Inc. (10352 Plaza Americana Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70816, Attn: LA 157 Project Manager), if postmarked by Friday, June 24, 2016, will become part of the record of this public meeting.

LADOTD is also proposing improvements to LA 3105 (Airline Drive) between Greenacres Boulevard to the north and LA 72 (Old Minden Road) to the south in Bossier City. Proposed improvements include access management strategies, capacity expansion along Airline Drive, side street restrictions, lane enhancements and more.

The LA 3105 (Airline Drive) public meeting will be held Thursday, June 16, from 5-7 p.m. in the Rusheon Middle School Gym, 2401 Old Minden Road, Bossier City.

Written and verbal comments will be received at the meeting. Additional written comments mailed to the Arcadis, U.S., Inc. (10352 Plaza Americana Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70816, Attn: LA 3105 Project Manager), if postmarked by Monday, June 27, 2016, will become part of the record of this public meeting.
