Sam’s Club has announced it will officially open its new club in Bossier City at 2861 Beene Blvd. on Thursday, August 14.
“We are pleased to announce a grand opening date and are excited to open our newest Sam’s Club in Bossier City,” said Tye Denney, the senior project manager who oversees new club openings. “Our team has worked hard and will continue to work hard leading up to August 14. It will be an exciting day as we celebrate with our members.”
The new club will officially open following an 8 a.m. ceremony on August 14. It will be the second store in Shreveport-Bossier, the 15th in the state, and the 641st in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
“The company believes in the economy of this area,” said John Hamm, the manager of Bossier’s new store. “We are very excited and looking forward to provide savings and value to citizens.”
The new club is hiring for a variety of positions – from supervisors to part-time – and and expects to create approximately 160 new jobs.
Applications are being accepted at the Sam’s Club Membership and Hiring Center, located at 380 Plaza Loop Building E Suite 350-02 2nd Floor of the Louisiana Boardwalk. The center will remain open until the store is open.
Hamm said they have received several hundred applicants and an average of 25-30 people stop by every day.
“The response has been good, we’re in a good location with a lot of traffic and it hasn’t been hard for anyone to find.” he said.
Hamm said he has already hired 25 new associates and is engaging with several local organizations.
“Bossier City has welcomed Sam’s Club with open arms, and we are looking forward to providing a unique shopping experience for the people in this area,” Hamm said. “We are pleased to offer our new members a special value when they purchase a membership leading up to our grand opening.”
Sam’s Club, a division of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. , is the nation’s eighth largest retailer and a leading membership warehouse club offering superior products and services in more than 630 clubs across the U.S., as well as in Brazil, China and Mexico.
