Two Airline players captured individual honors on the All-District 1, Division I boys and girls soccer teams.
Senior Gabe Rodriguez was named Overall MVP on the boys team.
Rodriguez scored 28 goals during the regular season, which ranked second in Northwest Louisiana.
He led Northwest Louisiana in assists with 21.
Senior Ashley Hein was named Defensive MVP on the girls team.
“Ashley is a fierce competitor and hard worker,” Airline coach Walt Peoples said. “Her ability to read the game gives her a big advantage. She plays smart and puts the team before herself.”
Airline junior forward/midfielder Gin Pau and defender Mang Tung also made the boys first team.
Pau led Northwest Louisiana with 39 goals.
Airline senior midfielder Rachel Cochran made the girls first team.
Airline defenders Chayton Ward, Austin Floyd and Eric Mundy and forward/midfielders Keaton Love and Kham Nang made the boys second team.
Forward/midfielder Noah Sheets made honorable mention.
Airline forward Haylie Travis, midfielder Mallory Hoglind and defender Presley Nelson made the girls second team.
Jamie Sparkman, Emily Wood and Jenifer Condie were named honorable mention.
Caddo Magnet’s Alex Witt was named Offensive MVP on the boys team and Byrd’s Troy Boles was the Defensive MVP.
Nick Flowers of Caddo Magnet took Coach of the Year honors.
District champion and state runner-up Byrd took three of the four individual honors on the girls team.
Kyra Montes was named Overall MVP, Hope Miletello Offensive MVP and Lisa Leverman Coach of the Year.
The All-District teams were selected by the district’s coaches.
