The winner of this year’s KTBS 3/St. Jude Dream Home in Bossier City is Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Mikle) Christie.

The single-family home is estimated to be valued at $325,000. Built by Rodgers Homes and Construction the 2,400-square-foot home is located in the Rosedale subdivision and features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, an open living room and a two car garage.

When asked how it feels to win the Dream Home, Mrs. Christie said, “I can’t describe how I feel. In the Bible they speak about full of joy, joy unspeakable and full of glory and I guess that comes pretty near to describing how I feel right now.”

Not only does the dream home benefit the new homeowner, but also the children of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® who are battling cancer and other deadly diseases.

For the past 24 years, St. Jude has given away more than 340 houses and raised more than $270 million through the St. Jude Dream Home® Giveaway campaign, the largest single-event fundraiser for the hospital. It’s because of programs like this that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel housing or food, so they can focus on helping their child live.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other deadly diseases. St. Jude has the world’s best survival rates for the most aggressive childhood cancers, and treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since we opened more than 50 years ago.
