Transitions coming to staff

Occasionally, important transitions take place within our library system such as retirements and job changes. Three wonderful ladies will be retiring this month: Margie Carney, Circulation manager at Bossier Central; Patricia Pickett, Operations Associate in Administration; and Bea Minniear from Children’s Services at Central.

On Thursday, March 13, from 1-3 p.m., at the Bossier Central Library we will bid farewell to Margie and Patricia. Then on March 20, we will give Bea a send-off of her own at the same time and place. They will be honored by co-workers, friends, and family to celebrate their years of dedicated service to the patrons of Bossier Parish Libraries. You are welcome to come by to wish them well.

There will be some moving around of personnel to keep things running smoothly. You will see familiar faces, some from other branches and some at the same branch only in different areas filling in the gaps left by our retirees.

VickieHardinAulds manager Diane Bundy will be moving to Central as Library Manager. Anne Madison will be the new Associate Director of Public Services overseeing all library locations, including the History Center. Debbie Adams is the new Reference Librarian at Central taking Connie Ammons’ place as she moves to Assistant Manager of Technical Services. Hayden Barrett is the new Digital Services Assistant at Central taking Amanda Cole’s place in the public computer area. Amanda has been moved to the IT Department.

There are still a few more changes coming. I will keep you posted as they happen.

Congratulations to all and best wishes.

On a more somber note, our co-worker and friend Linda Mitchell passed away February 9, 2014. She worked for Bossier Parish Libraries at the Plain Dealing branch for 17 years. We will miss her smiles and kind heart.
