The Ark-La-Tex Sports Museum of Champions class of 2016 includes two Bossier Parish residents.

Former Haughton High boys basketball coach Billy Montgomery and ex-Louisiana Tech basketball player Dr. Raymond Germany are among five who will be inducted into the museum Aug. 6 at the Shreveport Convention Center.

Montgomery, a former Louisiana legislator, guided Haughton to state titles in 1968 and 1969. He was a district district coach of the year eight times.

Germany, a retired urologist, played at Tech from 1955-60. The Bulldogs were 21-4 during Germany’s junior season. Among his teammates was the late Jackie Moreland.

Also set to enter the museum are former Denver Broncos quarterback and Louisiana Tech assistant football coach Mickey Slaughter, former Hal Sutton caddie Freddie Burns and world champion hot air balloonist Dr. Bill Bussey.
