The fall Veterans’ Job and resource Fair is set for Thursday, September 4, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Bossier Civic Center.
The event is free to both businesses as well as job seekers. Veterans, active duty military members and their dependents are welcome to attend the event.
The Bossier Chamber of Commerce has held eight military-related job fairs since 2011. Between 2012 and 2013, the job fairs have served more than 500 veteran job seekers and included over 150 business participants. In 2013 alone, over 97 on-site interviews were conducted at the Veteran’s Job and Resource Fair, resulting in 78 job offers.
In addition to aiding veteran’s employment search, the fair also helps share service programs that are offered to help meet the needs of those who have served our country.
The event is a collaborative effort between the Bossier Chamber of Commerce, Hero2Hired, Goodwill Industries of Northwest Louisiana and the City of Bossier City. The Veteran’s Job and Resource Fair is sponsored by Willis-Knighton Health System, Virginia College and Louisiana Timber Partners.
