BOSSIER CITY, LA (June 23, 2016) – It didn’t take long for Chris McJunkins to confirm he had a winner on his hands.
Roughly eight months after opening Shreveport’s first Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar, McJunkins announced today that he will be bringing the “Best Sports Bar in North America” to Bossier City this summer.
The Bossier City Walk-On’s will be located at 3010 Airline Drive in the former Santa Fe Cattle Co. location. It will be roughly 7,500 square feet, with seating for approximately 260 guests. McJunkins anticipates opening this summer and, in the process, bringing more than 200 new jobs to the city.
McJunkins, a 35-year veteran of the restaurant industry, was the third franchisee to sign-on with Walk-On’s Enterprises last year. He heads up a partnership group that includes former LSU football star Jacob Hester and former LSU baseball star Todd Walker.
Their new Walk-On’s in Shreveport has been an unqualified success since opening its doors in mid-October.
“Just as we thought, Walk-On’s is exactly what Shreveport needed,” said McJunkins. “It’s more than just a traditional sports bar. Our Louisiana-style menu features some of the best food you’ll find anywhere, and our game-day atmosphere is perfect for sports fans of all ages. We think Bossier deserves a Walk-On’s of its own!”
Baton Rouge-based Walk-On’s now has eight locations throughout Louisiana – three in Baton Rouge and one each in New Orleans, Lafayette, Houma, Shreveport and Lake Charles. Other locations are on the way in Zachary, Covington and Alexandria, as well as Houston, Lubbock and Tyler, Texas. Several additional markets across the Southern United States are likewise on the drawing board.
