Four parish teams begin state soccer playoffs Friday

Four Bossier Parish teams begin play in the LHSAA state soccer playoffs Friday.

District 1 boys champion Benton (14-6-2) is the only parish team that will host a home game. The No. 12 seed Tigers play No. 21 Belaire (4-7-4) in a Division II first-round game at Tinsley Park.

Airline (13-9), the No. 28 seed, travels to Baton Rouge for a 5 p.m. game Division I first-round game against No. 5 Catholic (14-1-5-) at Burbank Field.

In Division I girls, District 1 runner-up Parkway (15-9-5), the No. 21 seed, visits No. 21 Baton Rouge Magnet (18-6-3) at 4 p.m.

Parkway was also seeded No. 21 last season. The Lady Panthers upset No. 12 Acadiana 3-2 in Lafayette.

In Division II girls, Benton (9-8), the No. 21 seed in Division II, travels to New Orleans to face No. 12 Ursuline Academy (9-12-1) at 3:30 p.m. at Audubon Riverview Park.
