2021 State Fair of Louisiana Event Highlights for Week #1

The 115th State Fair of Louisiana will take place at the Louisiana State Fairgrounds in Shreveport, Louisiana. Opening day is this Thursday and the fair will run through November 14th. The hours of operation will be 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Parking and admission are free until 3:00 p.m. on weekdays. The State Fair will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

  • This Thursday, October 28th, is opening day. Gates open at 12:00 p.m. Parking and admission are free from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on weekdays. It’s also a discount day meaning admission is only $5.00 and carnival ride armbands are only $25.00.   
  • Senior Day & Expo at the State Fair is also this Thursday, October 28th. The Senior Expo begins at 10:00 a.m. in Hirsch Coliseum.  State Fair gates will open at 10:00 a.m. for those attending the Senior Expo. We will honor our greatest generation, our seniors! There will be live entertainment, exhibitors with great information, free health screenings, free flu and pneumonia shots along with COVID-19 vaccines. This year, over 100 door prizes will be given away with a special grand prize valued at more than $1,000.00. This event is presented by The Best of Times Magazine.

    • Thursday, October 28th:
      • Tailgate Poets at 7:00 p.m.
    • Friday, October 29th:
      • Pat Mason & Bayou Boogie at 5:30 p.m.
      • Wayne Toups at 7:45 p.m.
    • Saturday, October 30:
      • Nappy Roots at 7:30 p.m.
      • Arrested Development at 8:30 p.m.
    • Sunday, October 31:
      • Joe Nadeau Band at 2:00 p.m.
      • Avery Michaels Band at 5:00 p.m.
  • 18th Annual Antique Tractor Show and Pull, this Friday & Saturday October 29th & 30th presented by the East Texas Antique Tractor & Engine Association. There will be an antique tractor display, antique tractor pull competition and blacksmithing demonstrations free with State Fair gate admission.    
  • State Fair Cheer & Dance Showdown Saturday, October 30th, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in Hirsch Coliseum.  Admission is free with State Fair gate admission and is presented by Bravo Spirit Events.
