Patsy Bloodworth Turner
Benton, LA – It is with great sadness that the family of Patsy Bloodworth Turner announces her passing on November 08, 2018 at the age of 72 years. Patsy went home to be with the Lord and join her Mother, Father, sister, Harriett, brothers, Billy and Jimmy. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA.
Patsy was born in Shreveport, LA on November 23, 1945, the daughter of Harry and Pansy Bloodworth. In July 1961, Patsy married Robert A. Turner and they had three children, Christina, Dennie and Cherie. Patsy was a loving and devoted mother, wife, daughter, and sister.
In the 70’s and 80’s Patsy worked as a hairdresser and eventually had her own salon. At the age of 45, Patsy graduated LSU Nursing school with honors. As an RN, she worked in the Critical Care Unit and retired November 30, 2005 as the Urology Clinic Manager. Patsy was also a Ham Radio Operator and had a Special Appointment as Deputy Marshal in Bossier City, LA in the Emergency Communications Branch.
Patsy leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Robert Turner; children, Christina Turner Sommers of Oregon, Dennie Turner of Texas and Cherie Turner Stuteville of Louisiana; grandchildren, Jake Murray, Emily Wielgozs, Hanna Sommers, Lily Sommers, Alec Turner, Ian Turner, Jeremy Stuteville and Ashley Stuteville; great grandchildren, Domino Murray Yocum, Clara Wielgozs and William Wielgozs; siblings, Johnny Bloodworth, Tommy Bloodworth, Kathy Johnson, Becky Burns-Curro and Mary Smith.
Patsy had a great love for animals including her Great Dane show dogs and beloved Rottweilers. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to ASPCA or Shreveport Bossier Animal Rescue in the memory of Patsy Bloodworth Turner.
