The Bossier and Haughton All-Stars won first-round games Friday in the Dixie 11-12 O-Zone baseball state tournament at the Lawson Bo Brandon Sports Complex in Princeton.
Bossier defeated Tioga 4-3, and Haughton downed EORD 17-13. Haughton and Benton face off in the winners’ bracket semifinals at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The Benton All-Stars lost their first-round game to Pineville 14-3 and play an elimination game today at 3.
Collier Cloinger scored the winning run in the sixth and final inning on CJ McMahon’s single in Bossier’s victory Cloinger took advantage of a couple of errors to reach second and advanced to third on a wild pitch.
Trace Vorachek went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. McMahon went 2-for-3. Brian Roberson had a single. Cloinger walked twice and scored two runs.
Hunter Whiteside, Cole Collins, Josh Stoll and Parker Stevens combined on a four-hitter.
Caleb Green and Dawson Hunt hit home runs in Haughton’s win. Green also had a single and two RBIs. Hunt walked twice and had two RBIs.
Landon Thompson had two hits, including a double. Jameson Rose IV also had two hits.
Josh Peterman had a single and two RBIs.
Hunter Jenkins, Logan Hendrix and Matthew Nesbit had one single apiece.
