Women’s college basketball: Former Parkway star Williams off to strong start in sophomore season at LSU

Former Parkway star Mikaylah Williams is off to a strong start in her sophomore season at LSU.

She is averaging 19.7 points in three blowout victories at home.

Williams, the SEC Freshman of the Year last season, scored a team-high 25 points in the Tigers’ most recent game, a 117-44 victory over Charleston Southern Tuesday night. She was 10-of-16 from the field and hit three 3-pointers. She also had six rebounds.

Williams scored 16 in a 95-36 victory over Northwestern State on Nov. 8. She was 7-of-13 from the field with two 3-pointers.

She scored 18 in the the Tigers’ 95-44 victory over Eastern Kentucky in the season opener Nov. 4. She was 7-of-14 from the field.

LSU hosts Murray State Friday night.
